PORTO BLUE

The settlement is located in Pefkohori , Halkidiki and sprawls in four building blocks full of pine and oil trees, with total area 15.600 sq.m. It includes 85 independent semi- detaches houses with garden.
The adjustment of the largest residents was made close to the sea in the form of two- family houses with a considerable distance between them, leaving great spaces of view for the other houses. In the small plots and as well around the plot, residential buildings were built in castle form, facing a close interior yard. The access to the yard is from arcades. For the floor plans two main types were used with many variants, so as its resident to be different from its other.
The first type is developed around an interior two storey area – patio place in the center of the floor and in which all other spaces have access functionally and visually. The center space is illuminated by a glass brick grille on the ceiling allowing the sunlight to pass through the resident all day, creating the feeling of internal yard.
The second type is developed around a circular staircase, compact inside with a double frontage arcade on the ground floor and a large veranda on the floor.

The total approach was about to create an “urban” settlement with respect to the environment and the nature of the area.
